25 conversations a month go quickly
Smartsupp's free plan covers 25 conversations a month and keeps 14 days of history.1 That is enough for a small site with little traffic. At ChatFlamingo the live chat is free with no cap — whatever your team writes never counts, however much it becomes. You pay only for what the AI answers.
Both sit in the EU — and the page says so
Smartsupp.com, s.r.o. is in Brno, Czech Republic.2 ChatFlamingo comes from CertoClav Sterilizer GmbH in Leonding, Austria. This is the one comparison on this website where the seat is not a difference — so it stands here without fanfare. About Smartsupp's data location and DPA we found nothing on the public pages that we could quote.
Reply assists are not the same as answers
In the “Solo” plan Smartsupp lists 50 “AI reply assists” a month — help with writing.1 The “Mira AI Agent”, which answers by itself, is billed separately. At ChatFlamingo the AI answers by itself, and that is what is counted. So when comparing, check whether a number makes writing easier or takes over answering.
Switching in three steps
- Create the account. Enter your website address, the bot reads it. No credit card.
- Swap the line. Take the old snippet out of your theme or plugin and put ours in — or install the ChatFlamingo plugin in WordPress. Do remove the old snippet, or two chat windows end up on top of each other.
- Add the knowledge. Upload the price list, the manual, the FAQ — everything the bot should know that is not on the website.
Old conversations cannot be carried over. If you need the history, export it at your old provider first.

What people ask when switching
What happens at Smartsupp after 25 conversations a month?
That is on their pricing page, described better there than we could. At ChatFlamingo there is no such cap: the live chat is free without limit.
Can I run both at the same time?
Technically yes, sensibly no. Two chat windows on the same page confuse visitors, and both greet proactively. Better: test on one subpage, then switch.
Can I bring my old conversations?
No. There is no import. Export the history at your old provider if you want to keep it.
What happens when the 100 free answers run out?
The AI stops answering, the live chat keeps running. Nobody is moved into a plan automatically, and there is no back-billing. Next month the 100 are back.
Is Smartsupp GDPR-compliant?
We do not judge that — everyone has to check it for their own use. Smartsupp’s own statements are on their pages, linked below. What we found is in the table, with a source.
