The three differences that matter
Price per person against price per answer
LiveChat costs $19 per person a month billed annually.1 Three people answering means paying three times — including in a quiet month. At ChatFlamingo the live chat costs nothing however many colleagues write along; you pay only for what the AI answers. That turns the bill around: it grows with the enquiries, not with the team.
We found no permanently free plan
LiveChat's pricing page shows a 14-day trial without a credit card, not a permanently free plan.1 At ChatFlamingo the free part is not a trial that expires: widget, live chat, dashboard and 100 AI answers a month stay.
Here the name means one particular product
“Live chat” is a general term, “LiveChat” is the product of Text, Inc.2 This page compares with that product — not with live chat in general. If you are looking for live chat as a feature, our features page is the better place.
Switching in three steps
- Create the account. Enter your website address, the bot reads it. No credit card.
- Swap the line. Take the old snippet out of your theme or plugin and put ours in — or install the ChatFlamingo plugin in WordPress. Do remove the old snippet, or two chat windows end up on top of each other.
- Add the knowledge. Upload the price list, the manual, the FAQ — everything the bot should know that is not on the website.
Old conversations cannot be carried over. If you need the history, export it at your old provider first.

What people ask when switching
Does LiveChat have a free plan?
We found none on the pricing page, only a 14-day trial.1 What counts is always the provider's own page — offers change.
Can I run both at the same time?
Technically yes, sensibly no. Two chat windows on the same page confuse visitors, and both greet proactively. Better: test on one subpage, then switch.
Can I bring my old conversations?
No. There is no import. Export the history at your old provider if you want to keep it.
What happens when the 100 free answers run out?
The AI stops answering, the live chat keeps running. Nobody is moved into a plan automatically, and there is no back-billing. Next month the 100 are back.
Is LiveChat GDPR-compliant?
